I'm currently studying for an Open University degree, whilst trying to write my fifth (or is it sixth now?) unpublished novel. On top of those time-intensive pursuits, I'm slowly teaching myself computer programming - nowhere near as straightforward nowadays as I remember it being in 1985 whilst using a teenager's brain.

My preferred areas of interest are books and writing, philosophy and religion, Internet and online culture, and TV and film, but I have at least a passing interest in just about everything.

I gave up cigarettes and alcohol three years ago and it, ah, changed my life - which it darn well should do, really, when you think about it.
